Prayer Requests

Hi guys,

We didn't get a chance to post the prayer requests from Sunday. Would anyone like to add some? If so, comment...

Thanks,

Robert

  1. Robert-

Missed you today. Got a prayer request that I would like to add to the list. A close friend and Citadel classmate of mine, Jeff Smoak, has a daughter, Macayla Smoak, that has a rare disease known as Batten's. It aint good. No known cure and fatal. I believe she is 7. He has put together a website, www.smoaksignals.com, regarding this.

    Thanks,
    Brad

  2. Robert-

Another prayer request. I received the following from another friend, Susannah Lee Kang, regarding Shawnee Boyle.

"Guys, please keep Tim & Shawnee in your thoughts and prayers. She went last Thursday for a routine scan of her pituitary gland. (Evidently there were some issues with her hormone levels that were a bit out of the norm.) While scanning her pituitary they found the beginnings of an aneurism.

There is a large mass at the base of her brain. Because of the location and the complexity of it, she has been referred to a specialist affiliated with Emory University. The local neurosurgen didn't want to touch it. She is now waiting to hear from the doctor's office in Atlanta. Hopefully she will go down in the next two to three weeks for a consultation with him. We're hoping this can be treated with radiation so she does not have to undergo surgery. Obviously the associated risks of a surgery are greater than the radiation, not to mention radiation would be less invasive. At this point we have to wait and see.

She has set up a website to keep everyone informed of her progress. You can visit her there at
http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/shawneeboyle. If you want to send her a card, her address is 3 Sugarberry Drive, Greenville, SC 29615.

Shawnee is in good spirits and is continuing to work. I think it's a nice distraction from worrying about what's going on in her head. She, Tim, Stephen and I are going to Atlanta this weekend to get out of town for a while.

I’ll keep you posted as the details unfold.

    Susannah"
